Day 1 Quito and the Middle of the World
This last guy isn't in our delegation lol. But he is holding a shrunken head which we learned how it was made by the Amazon Jungle tribe in the Ecuadoran Highlands. Students were most impressed with the demonstration of the water vortex and they saw how it went clockwise in the southern hemisphere, counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere and straight down the drain when position directly on the equator! Impressive!
Lunch was traditional foods and amazing fruits. We are not going hungry today!
Off to dinner for homemade pizza - now that this internet is working, I'll try to post more later tonight. The students are amazing!
