Ginger Peterson, our P2P Program manager for Asia and the Americas is monitoring the situation with the volcano in Ecuador. She says, "this volcano was also active last year. When an official travel advisory was issued, we quickly rerouted the itinerary for the first few groups and continued to monitor the situation throughout the summer, even after the travel advisory expired.
At this moment in time it is too early to make a decision about rerouting the itinerary. Even with the itinerary reroute, we substituted the same activities but in a different area and no delegates missed out on anything"
As always, we practice Safety First. If I hear any more about rerouting, I'll post. thanks Richard for posting this article. Let's keep our eyes out for additional information.
