U. S. citizenship test

In order to become an American citizen, you’re required to possess a knowledge and understanding of United States history and government. To demonstrate this knowledge, you are required during the naturalization interview to take what’s known as the U.S. citizenship test.  The US government announced that it was redesigning the test to put less emphasis on memorising facts and greater weightage on understanding the nation's history and government.

 When NEWSWEEK recently asked 1,000 U.S. citizens to take America’s official citizenship test, 29 percent couldn’t name the vice president. Seventy-three percent couldn’t correctly say why we fought the Cold War. Forty-four percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights. And 6 percent couldn’t even circle Independence Day on a calendar..  The test consits of  10-20 questions.  Can you pass this sample test?  click on the title above and see a sample of the "New" citizenship test.  Post your score below!
